My name is Penny (#3141).  I arrived from China on January 20.  If you like puppy antics, I’m your girl! I’m 60 pounds of sweetness, silliness, athleticism, and agility, and I’m up for any adventure. I like tummy rubs and chin scratches. I also like chasing my tail. I even catch it sometimes! I have good manners, but I am a bit of a thief because, well, I’m only 2-years-old. Towels, socks, gloves, books, eyeglasses: I’ve stolen them all. I love a good heist and I especially love it when you have to chase me to get your stuff back. I’m willing to return your items in exchange for a yummy treat.

I am what is known as “barrier reactive.” That means that I react to things I see through the living room window (crows, people, other dogs) or I hear on the other side of the fence. If you get a package delivered, I’ll be sure to let you know.

I’ve been living with a nine-year-old golden. He hasn’t been too interested in me and I’m not very interested in him, either. We share the humans and most of the toys just fine. Tennis balls are the exception. No one gets between me and my tennis balls.

As noted above, I’m a happy, healthy girl, but sometimes I just want to be left alone. Please don’t take it personally. I love you, I really do. Sometimes I just need a little me time.
