Hi, everyone, I am NELLIE (#3236)!!!! They say I am between one and three-years old but my foster mom thinks I may be WAY younger. She says she thinks I am closer to one!  I arrived from China in early September and now I am in Woodland, WA. I live with my foster brother, who is super old and grouchy but is starting to like me better and thinks I am funny. I also live with two orange terrorists! My foster mom says they are just cats, and I say cats are clearly crazy. I thought that I would like to chase them at first; I tried but they didn’t run much, and it wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be. Plus, they were kinda scary. Now they let me sniff them without punching me in the nose, so I think they are really liking me!

I love all people, including kids, and other animals. I just probably should not be trusted around chickens. I don’t kill them but really love to catch them and carry them around. Apparently, that is not what they are for . . . darn it.

Oh, the other day my foster mom took me and my foster brother to a river swimming and we chased this round thing (I think she called it a “ball”). The swimming thing was scary at first but she said I did really well. I’m not really good about sharing the “ball” when it is my turn but my foster brother follows me until I give it to him. HAHA, it is so fun!!!!

I sleep in this box thing mom calls a “crate.”  My mom said I can’t sleep in bed with her because (1) she will fall more in love with me and (2) my new family might not think my sleeping in their bed is a good idea. She said they might let me sleep with them but she wants to let them make that decision . . . I hope they make the right one for me.

A note from my foster mom:  Nellie has been a great little girl since the day she came. She is eager to please. She loves to be close and loves to ride in the car. She is going to make an awesome dog for someone with just a bit of work. She is not a chewer and has not pottied in the house. She will be missed but I am so excited for her to have a family of her own.
