My name is Jack (#3339) and I arrived from China in December.  I am a sweet and playful three-year old, 63-pound Golden. Pardon my lack of modesty, but I am a handsome and happy guy so I am used to getting plenty of attention when out on walks, which is great because I love to say hi to humans and dogs of all sorts. If they’re up for playtime, or game of fetch, that’s even better! I am energetic and would thrive in an active household where I could join my family for a jog or a moderate hike, but at the very least a few decent walks every day.

My leash skills could use some attention, and I have some room for improvement with begging for food and basic commands, but am overall a very well-behaved, non-reactive, trusting and lovable boy. I have had only a couple of accidents with my foster family, but I aim to please and am comfortable with a crate, so shouldn’t need much help in terms of potty-training.

I do not like to be left alone and follow my humans from room to room. I exhibit some anxiety when the pack is separated, so it may take some work to help me understand that I am safe and sound when alone.  Alternatively, I will fit in well with someone who is home most of the time.

My foster family says this about me:  This loving, cuddly, sweetheart is gentle and submissive with humans and dogs. His cat history is unknown but he would probably be okay with them considering how sweet he is with dogs and humans. He’s had positive interactions with a one-year old child and this, along with the fact that he’s exhibited no aggression of any sort so far, leads us to believe that he would do well with children of all ages.
