Copper, now Parker, has been with us since May 15th and has settled in so well!  He is super playful and will do anything for a round of fetch.  He has the typical energy of a 1 ½ year old lab.  He gets 3 walks a day and then some fetch time since he’s still very much a puppy.  He’s been to the beach and river however he is not a swimmer.  He prefers to play fetch along the shoreline instead.  He will wade but only if he can touch the bottom.  His personality is so easy going and he is very friendly to everyone he comes across.  Our favorite thing about him is his wiggle butt when he greets us.  He wiggles so much that his entire back-end sways.  It is the cutest.  We can’t even get upset when he does it at 4:30am to wake us up to play.  He even brings us our shoes!  We are so happy to be able to add him to our pack.  He is perfect for us and our family.

Copper (#3479) flew in from China on 3/26. He is a  1-year old yellow lab, weighing in at 56 pounds.  Copper is overall healthy, however he does have a yeast infection and mites in both ears. He is on medication to treat his ears and will need dental treatment for gingivitis in the future.M

His fosters report he is timid but has taken a liking to his foster mom while remaining skittish with his foster dad. They will be working with Copper on this. Copper is becoming more comfortable with his fosters and will come up to them to take treats and has started to wag his tail. He even let them rub his belly so it shouldn’t be too long before Copper is feeling much more comfortable.

All descriptions above are what we know about this dog when it was first released to GBR. Dogs are typically in foster care for three to four weeks. During that time, we will discover its true personality as witnessed by its particular foster family. The dog’s personality traits may change as it becomes accustom to its new foster home.
