Hi, my name is April and I consider myself the luckiest dog.  I arrived from China in November and then came to my forever home in January.  It is the BEST ever.    I live with my two GBR sisters, both of whom I adore.  Oh, also two cats who let me sniff them, but mostly I just ignore them.  They don’t play ball so why bother.  My sisters and I get to play ball, go for very fun hikes and my most favorite of all, I go swimming at the lake.  I can play for hours on end with one tennis ball.  Oh, and those car rides are soooo exciting.  Smart.  Yep.  Mom tells me that all the time. I am so good mom can take me everywhere.

My foster parents took such great care of me, that when I got to my forever home, I only had one thing to work on.  That was figuring out that the brown carpet here wasn’t actually dirt.  But I now have that figured out and I can go in and out of the dog door as many times a day as I want.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my mom.  I am always within sight.  My sister, Sadie, watches out for me and we sometimes get into competition with the balls to see who can chase it faster.  I always win

My health is great.  Despite my little front legs being bowed (I am sure from being kept in a super small space), I can run with the best of them.  I am a strong girl now.  My mom thinks I was a former soccer player in my previous life since I can really bat that ball around.  I love to smell the flowers too.  Sometimes I have to take a bite just to see what it is.  Mom says she’ll plant more daffodils next year.

I would like to send all the GBR volunteers who rescued me and brought me here a great big doggie hug.  I smile all the time and so I get to share the joy with everyone around me.  Thank you for all the time and effort.  Whew.  Life is so good here!

From my mom:

April is truly a gift of love, devotion and gratefulness.  She is my 9th Golden, and my 6th GBR dog and it feels like she has been in our life forever.  She is the gift that keeps on giving.

Love from all us.

April, Trixie, Sadie

Attractive April (#3285) flew in from China on November 26.  Her heartworm and fecal tests were negative, but both ears were infected and she has received treatment.  April has an inverted vulva which will need to be watched because it could result in urinary infections.  All in all, sweet April is a healthy girl!

April’s foster mother reports that she is settling in nicely and is a very good girl.

April was adopted on January 17, 2020
