My name is Sadie (#4173).  I am a lovely 8-year old black Labrador Retriever. I came to Golden Bond Rescue when my owners of 8 years had to go into assisted living and couldn’t take me with them.  I really missed my humans at first, but am now happily settled into my foster home.  I’m reliable free roam and don’t get on the furniture, but nothing makes me happier than having my people around.  I’ve heard them call me “velcro”.  While I’m not sure what that means, it sounds like a compliment to me.  I’ll happily stay by your side.

Like many a senior, I am a bit stiff when I first get up, but my arthritis is well managed with meds and exercise.  I’ve also lost a lot of weight in foster care (over 15 pounds!) which has made me feel lighter on my feet. I love going for my twice a day walks (I do a happy dance when I see the leash come out), and while it’s still a work in progress, I’m getting better about not pulling.  I didn’t get walked often in my old home, but I’m a smart girl and want to please.  I also really enjoy playing fetch and if there’s a ball or frisbee in the yard, I’m going to ask you to play with me.

I also love my food (I’m a Labrador after all) but apparently, I have some food allergies, but as long as I’m kept on the food that my humans have figured out works for me, I have no issues at all.  Just don’t let me trick you into feeding me something else when I give you my “sad and I’m so hungry” Lab look.

My foster family really loves me but they know I deserve my very own furever home.  While I’m happy enough to meet other dogs when I’m out on walks, I’d rather be your one and only in the home.  Do you have room for a big cuddly black Lab like me?  I promise to be your faithful companion.
