My name is Maverick (#3892). I am a gentle and shy dog. I am still getting used to human touch and love. I will take some time to get used to you, but once I do I can be very friendly. I often greet humans by softly licking their fingers. I am shy around other dogs as well, but once I get to know a dog, I become best pals with them. I don’t mind playing rough and tumble.

When I get excited I tend to chew on things like grass and the legs of indoor furniture. I like to spend time outdoors in the backyard. Especially in the afternoons, I tend to be lazy in general take long naps. My peak playing time is usually around sunset.

I am still learning basic commands like sit, leave it and off. I will need some confidence building and another dog can really help me out. I am very curious and my foster parents are sure that I will learn all the skills required to be a good house doggie. My crate tends to be my safe space, and when I am a little anxious, I prefer to sneak into my crate.
