Brandy #4100
My name is Brandy (#4100). I am a 3 ½-year old male Labrador Retriever and I weight 88 lbs. I am a bundle of energy that loves people and activity. I love walks, running around the yard and taking car rides. I am fantastic on my leash. I have little reaction to other dogs or people. I have a great harness and gentle leader that helps with my pulling.
I have basic commands down and am taking refresher training classes to brush up on my manners. I’m learning not to counter surf. I can be a little sneaky with taking things that are not toys like the TV remote. My trainer says I excel at “ nose work” and should enter competitions with my new family. I love a good puzzle! We are working on my reactions to loud noises and my separation anxiety.
I used spend a lot of my life in a crate and I no longer feel comfortable being locked inside. For now, I will take little naps and eat my food in there. Maybe down the road I will be okay if you shut the door but I prefer an open door approach while I adjust.
My foster family doesn’t have children but I tend to get a little rambunctious when I’m excited so I could knock someone over by accident. I would be better around children over 12-years old. My foster family has a cat and I am not a fan of small animals. I haven’t been around other dogs off leash so my foster family doesn’t know how I would react in a multi-dog household.
I am a sweet, smart and loyal companion. My ideal family will be understanding with me as I get used to a new home and will continue my training. I will thrive with activity, routines and room to run. Please include me in your adventures!
