Hi, my name is Belle (#4216). I come with all the standard Golden Retriever traits such as a happy tail that makes my butt wiggle and expressive honey caramel eyes that will warm your heart. I make my foster parents laugh because I often will make a snorting sound when I’m laying down or when I’m sleeping while they are watching TV.

I am a 7-year-old female, about 70 pounds, and am not by any means a couch potato. Although, I’m not bouncing off the walls with energy all the time either. You could say that I am chill and laid back in the house, but am always game to go on an adventure or a walk. I didn’t have a lot of experience walking on a leash, but with my foster parents I have picked it up pretty quickly and love going on a good 2 mile or longer walk. I sometimes will pull my foster parent on the leash, but I don’t pull too hard because both of their arms are still the same length. I am working on trying to walk gracefully and not tugging on the leash during a walk.

I am “on point” around the house and want to know where everyone is in the house and what they are doing. Being a Golden Retriever, I love being around people and would like a home with someone who is retired or works from home so that I can get pets during the day. I get along great with my English Cream Golden Retriever foster sister, but would prefer to be the only dog to get all the love and attention myself.

I recently had dental work done and am missing some teeth since I wore my teeth down chewing on rocks because I was previously kept in a kennel during the days and I was bored. But I still have a happy smile to give you, especially after I get a doggy treat. I also get the “itch-ies”, and I recently got a shot of Cytopoint which really helped my scratching. Other than that, I am in good health and am active. I love car rides and shopping if you want to take me to Home Depot or Petco. I love care rides so much that I probably won’t want to get out of the car when we get home.

My foster parents think I’m pretty smart because I learned how to use the doggy door after the second try, and it’s so cool that I can go in and out of the house whenever I want. At night I sleep in the bedroom with my foster parents and my foster Golden sister on my king size dog bed. During the day I like to be close to one of my foster parents whether they are on the computer, in another room watching TV, or out in the yard. I would love to have someone that enjoys snuggling with me on the couch while they are watching a movie.

My foster parents have 2 grandkids (ages 3 and 9) and I am good with kids. I used to live with one of those meow creatures, and I really couldn’t care less about them. I would much rather have a basket of stuffed animals that I can carry around the house and play with (but I don’t rip them apart).

Now you have a small idea about me and how great I am. I am a very sweet, personable, mindful, and a happy girl to give lots of love to someone forever. If you are wanting to have a Golden Girl that is smart, lovable, funny, and a great furry companion then we should talk.
