Ocean #4112

My name is Ocean (#4112) and I am about a year old—my birthday is 8/17/23. I am likely a Labradoodle, although could be mixed with something else, and I am tall and skinny, only weighing in at 54 pounds at the moment. I could stand to put on a few pounds. I’m currently being treated for giardia, and once that clears up I think gaining weight will be easier. I love to eat treats and dog food!

My foster family jokes that my legs are miles long and they have seen me leap over very tall objects, although not to escape the yard or anything like that. I am very goofy and kind of clumsy, often tripping over my own feet.  I am also sweet and I love to cuddle, but I have a lot of energy because I’m still a puppy.

My current foster home has a 4-year old dog that doesn’t have the same energy level as me, and I think I would like a home with a dog that does have the same energy as me. I am very playful, but often use my mouth to play nip, which some dogs may not like. I also bark when I’m playing or when I am very excited.

My foster home also has a cat. I have gotten better with the cat, but I do want to chase her, and sometimes I bark at her when she hides from me. My foster mom thinks I probably should have a home without a cat, or else a home with a cat with a lot of patience and tolerance.

My foster family thinks I would do well with kids because I’m not aggressive and I’m very friendly, although I have a long tail that is at the height of a toddler’s head that could be potentially dangerous because I love to wag my tail!

I need a family with patience and time to teach me to walk on a leash and to play with me so I don’t get bored. I sleep in a crate at night with no problems, and I can be in a crate during the day, but I bark if I’m left alone. I really love to be around people and am looking forward to meeting my forever family!
