My name is Juno (#4297). I am a 4.5-year old English Yellow Labrador Retriever and I am ready for adoption! I am doing very well in foster care and have been told I am a pleasure to have around. I fit right in with my foster’s pack (2 resident Labradors) and am a happy easygoing girl. I am house-trained (never had an accident!) and good to roam free. I love attention (belly rubs are my favorite) and my whole body wiggles in excitement when I
greet you. Probably my only shortcoming is that I still pull on the leash when I am excited. I am making progress though!
My foster family calls me Junebug. I ended up in a shelter after I was rescused from a owner who allowed me to become morbidly obese. Luckily, someone told a Golden Bond volunteer about me so I didn’t have to stay there long. I have my work cut out for me to get my girlish figure back. I have already lost 10 pounds, but at 114 pounds, I still have a long way to go. Luckily, I love my prescription weight management food, and am also very excited to go on walks. As I continue to lose weight, I will be able to go on longer walks, but I have to be careful not to put too much strain on my joints in the meantime. Slow and steady wins the race!
I love people and kids (I just spent several days with my foster’s two young grandsons) and I am good with dogs as well. While I haven’t been introduced to cats since being in foster care, I reportedly did live with a cat before. I will thrive in many settings, but I absolutely need someone committed to getting me to a healthy weight through diet and proper exercise so that I can live a long and healthy life. My foster says I am the quintessential Lab and someone will be lucky to add me to their family. Is that family yours?
