Hugo’s success story (and ours): While grieving the loss of our young dog, we hoped fostering would open our hearts to the possibility of a new family member. At the time, our other dog, Rocket, and two cats, Bucky and Mooney, were sadly navigating a reality without their brother. Introducing Hugo to our home was slow, as he was hesitant and cautiously navigating the sudden changes in his world too. We weren’t sure if Hugo would be happy with us at first, but we continued to show him love and patience while we sorted out our heartbreak and his needs. Without even realizing it, Hugo became an important part of our family. Hugo and Rocket have become inseparable, and he can even be found playing with Bucky when he’s in a particularly playful mood. Hugo has fit into our family so perfectly and helped us fill a hole in our hearts when we thought it was impossible. Whether it’s snuggling at bedtime, playing outside, walking the neighborhood, or happily escorting us from room to room, Hugo is thriving in our pack. Fostering him was the best choice we ever made, and we are so grateful to have him in our lives. He has opened up to us as if he has always been a part of our family, showing us affection and goofiness every day.
We will love him and care for him for the rest of our days.
Thank you, Golden Bond!
