I am a 3 ½-year old golden retriever named Genevieve (#4213). I currently weigh 80 pounds and could stand to lose a couple. I love dogs, people and get along well with cats. I am fascinated by birds and squirrels – I sure wish I could chase them!

I get very excited when I see people and will need a little training so I’m not jumping from all my excitement! I’m not sure I’ve seen kids; I know I’d love them, but will do better in a home with teens 15+.

I love walks and exploring outside, but will need more leash training. Foster mom has been using a harness and she said it works great for me because of my stubbornness. I like to lay down when I don’t want to go back home.

I am currently working on boundaries and will need more training with that and my commands. Foster mom makes me sit for my treats, but I love to eat so I’ll do anything. I love to play tug, chase the ball, get belly rubs and be brushed. If I am bored I will look for something to grab and will not give it back to you until I’m ready.  If you pick up the leash, chances are I will let go of anything in hopes of another walk. Vacuums and loud noises don’t bother me.

After my last walk at night, I will pass out in the living room and not even notice my foster parents have gone to bed. I know where they are so I make my way to my bed and sleep straight through the night without bothering anyone.

My ideal forever family would be one that is active and hopefully home a lot. I would love a sibling to play with, but also would do well alone in an active home.
