My name is Copper (#4209). I am about 7-9 months old and, as you can see from my pictures, I am quite adorable. I am happy and playful and love watching the neighborhood out the front window. My two favorite things are playing ball and belly rubs!!! In fact, I came to Golden Bond Rescue with my own box full of tennis balls. When I play with a squeaky toy, I pounce on it with exuberance – my foster family tells me it’s the cutest thing.

I know basic commands, am treat-motivated and eager to learn. I love people and dogs and am learning not to cross certain boundaries. Because I am a young dog, I sometimes forget and need to be reminded that it’s not okay to jump, mouth or play too rough.

The other dog in my foster family tolerates me and will sometimes initiate play, which I love. I would love to play more, but I do respect the other dog’s mood and boundaries.

I am timid but curious with new experiences. It’s possible at my previous home I may not have been out of the house or yard very often. On walks, I am a little skittish when cars go by or there are strange noises, but with some reassurance I do really well.

In the few weeks since I have been in foster care, I have come a long way. I sleep well in my crate at night and stay in the crate when my foster family leaves the house.

With some training, patience and time, I will be a great family dog, either as an only dog or with another dog.
