Hi everybody, I’m Athena (#4003).  My dad had to give me up when he couldn’t care for me any longer and luckily I came to Golden Bond.  I’m about 10 1/2 years old and weigh 86 lbs.  I’ve been on a diet and need to continue that for a while.  I have some arthritis in my hind end and get a monthly shot and a daily pill to help with that.  I just had a dental done and the doc pulled some teeth so I already feel better.  I’m a typical Lab that loves food and attention, but I’m not pushy about it.  I love having another dog in the house and enjoy meeting new dogs and people.  I’m content to sleep most of the day but I enjoy my daily walk.  I can walk about a mile and enjoy a slow saunter while I smell everything.
From foster mom:  Athena is a great dog and loves everyone she meets.  She’s not food or toy aggressive, sleeps through the night without accidents, walks great on leash, loves car rides, and sleeps a lot.  She has arthritis which limits her mobility, needs a ramp to get in the vehicle, is mostly deaf, and just loves to be around her people. She can be a little stubborn about going out for a bedtime potty and a little demanding when she wants her walk.  Athena has a great personality and is very well mannered and easy to live with.  She is a sweet old girl looking for a comfy bed and maybe a fireplace to lay in front of.
