My name is Bonnie (#4125) and I am five years old. I came from South Korea and had many things to learn when I came to America before I could look for my forever home. I am a sweet girl, according to my foster mom. She says I am a bit of a rebel, because I am so curious about the world around me. But I really just want to please her and make her proud of me. There is so much to learn!
I love my foster family and I am fitting right in with my foster sister (a Golden Retriever) and her cats. I love to run around in the yard, chew on driftwood, and sniff everything in sight. I even ate Mom’s pumpkin! But I have never eaten anything I was not supposed to in the house. Promise. I love to snuggle with my foster mom, too. I like to climb into her lap and invade her personal space. It’s the best because my sister’s legs are too short to do it. Anything she can do, I can do better! I love people – my foster mom has lots of nice friends, and of course, they think I am adorable. My foster family thinks I would do best in a home where I am the only dog – I get scared meeting others, and have trouble controlling my emotions. But I am working on that problem. People are so nice to me here – I don’t even mind when I get a bath. Once I get to know you, we will be friends for life!
My foster sister and I love to hang out in the yard, and say hello to the neighbors. I have two kitty friends – I think they like me. My foster brother cat is a big tuxedo and we both like to sit on Mom’s lap – sometimes he even sits on me, but I don’t mind. My foster sister cat doesn’t seem to get along with anyone, so I leave her be. It’s okay to be a loner. She stares at me, a lot – she must think I am beautiful! We all share the same water bowl. We all get along fine. I wouldn’t mind going to a home with a cat or two, as long as they don’t pick on me. I also think I would like to have a human brother or sister to hang out with and play.
My foster sister is tired of me trying to play with her all the time, but I can’t help it! She is so much fun! I like to run around the yard and explore. I like to chew on my bone, and sometimes I chew on sister’s stuffies. Anything she has, I need to have, too. We spend a lot of time stealing toys from each other. I don’t mind being touched on my feet or my face, and I especially like my belly rubbed. My foster mom has a doggy vacuum, mostly for the “hairy beast” my sister, and I love getting brushed and seeing the hair gets sucked away. I don’t mind when my foster Mom has to take things away from me – I understand it’s probably something I am not supposed to have. I am very food-motivated and could easily learn new tricks with time and patience. I already know how to sit, stay, down, and how to take a treat “gently”. I like treats and I get so excited when Mom gives them to Sis and me when we come in. I had to get a haircut before I left Korea, I was a mess! But my feathers are growing in and I have gained 6 pounds. Mom is really happy with that – she says I am a pretty princess.
I love snuggles, pets and kisses. I have great hearing and exceptional eye site. If I see or hear something, I will let my foster mom know. The sound of the trash truck really gets me going! I have not had a single potty accident in the house. When I am in the backyard, I like to go potty in the beauty bark so no one steps on it. And, of course, I have to mark everywhere my foster sis has marked.
When my foster mom feeds Sis and me, she eats faster but then she patiently waits for me to get done so we can go outside. At first, I wouldn’t eat all my breakfast at once, but once I figured out I had a window to eat, I started eating all my meal. When dinner is over, she puts my bowl up so Sis can’t lick it when I am not looking (Sis has lots of allergies). My foster mom thinks I would be okay eating all at once or snacking through the day if I am not competing for my kibble.
I love to go for walks with my foster sister or by myself. It is one of my favorite activities. My tail wags the entire time. As soon as I see my harness and lead I get a bit impatient, but only because I am so happy to be going somewhere. I like to smell everything and take time to enjoy the scenery, but I am in a hurry to get to the next tree or bush. I think I would like to go for runs, too – I think I could learn to be a good running companion. I like car rides and have no issues in the back seat, looking out the window or taking a nap. I love when company comes over to see me – I get excited and make sure they get a good opportunity to pet me and say hello.
I can’t wait to find my forever family. I am a petite sweet girl that needs love and understanding. I get along with everybody, and would be a great addition to a family. I really need someone or some family to love me. I am still a puppy at heart, I want to learn, and most importantly become part of a family – give me a chance and I will show you how good I can be!
