Toby 4372 is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He loves to meet everyone, and loves everyone he meets.  He’s been great around kids and other dogs, and despite being told that he is 11-years-old, will still go out and play and chase with the best of them, but just maybe not as fast or as far. Even around rambunctious, annoying, young pups, he is very tolerant and playful.  Unfortunately, his age does show up with his arthritis, even if it doesn’t come through so much in his attitude, and the doc has prescribed some meds to help, but he does struggle some with steps and stairs and getting into cars, and may need a little boost from time to time, but would probably do best in a home without many stairs to climb. He also loves to lay in the yard and on the deck, and would like to have a nice, fenced area to do that in. He is a talker when he needs things, so when he’s ready to come in, or stuck at the bottom of the stairs, or lost his toy under the sofa, he will let you know with a soft cry or maybe a bark or three, but otherwise, he just likes to be laying at his foster dad’s feet while he’s working or chewing on a hard chew or a bone in his bed, and just likes being around people and other dogs as much as possible. He will jump at the chance to go for a walk or a ride, but he’s still learning his leash manners and can pull when he’s excited or interested, and on walks he really, really likes to take his time and get all sniffs in that he can, and just really savor those, but like most Labs, he is also very, very food-motivated and listens well to commands, especially when paired with some healthy snacks.  He can also stand to lose a few more pounds, but luckily he also loves carrots and other fresh veggies as snacks, but in his opinion, biscuits and cookies are much better.
