Sam (#4233) is a 2-yr old Goldendoodle. He does have an undercoat and does shed like a Golden.
This sweet boy has come back into GBR care after a year away.  He has some stranger danger ( both dogs and humans).   He was not socialized as a puppy, so while he’d love to be everyone’s best friend, he’s just not confident enough to do this without slow intros.   He is good with a resident dog, and he loves to play, and he’d actually do best in a home with a well-balanced dog.  He can be reactive on walks to both people and dogs, but with human awareness and more exposure, he’ll do fine on daily walks.  Especially with a calm dog buddy along.
Sam got some very good training that GBR provided to the adopter but due to her own circumstances she was not able to follow through with recommendations on her own.   This return is not all on Sam; while he does come with some quirks, there were other things that held up his progress.
He is truly the sweetest boy and best dog.   He is perfect in every way except for social settings.   At home with his people and dog buddy, he is the best dog ever.   We’ll be doing some assessing in the coming weeks to see how to continue his progress.  The good news is that he is another year older, and he really did learn some skills from the trainer that the foster home is already seeing improvements on.
