Charlie #4367

Charlie is a very sweet and adorable  yellow Labrador Retriever. He is estimated to be between 7-8 years old. While most Labradors tend to have high energy, Charlie likes to experience the world at his own pace. He is a very mellow and calm guy. He enjoys taking leisurely walks where he can stop and smell all of the smells. Charlie’s perfect day would entail a sniff walk and then lounging in the backyard for some sunbathing. When the sun isn’t out, he settles for either a spot on the couch or in a cozy dog bed.

When Charlie first came to Golden Bond Rescue, he weighed 113 pounds and now he is down to 98 pounds. He still needs to lose at least another 10 pounds to reach a healthy weight. Continuing to lose weight and daily walks are important for Charlie because he has mild arthritis. He currently receives a daily, oral medication for his arthritis as well as a daily joint supplement that have both helped him.

Charlie has experience living with both children and dogs and does well with both. He would love to live with another mellow dog as he enjoys the companionship of having a four legged pal around when the humans are out and about. He does tend to gently pull on leash, but walks like a gentleman with the help of a slip leash and a treat pouch. Speaking of treats, he really enjoys eating pork liver, snap peas, broccoli, and green beans.
