My name is Charlie (#4367).   I am a 7-year old yellow Labrador Retriever.  I’ve been described as “derpy and a bit of a couch potato” which I assume is a compliment because I know I am a very good boy.

When I first came to Golden Bond Rescue, I weighed 111 pounds but, with the help of my foster family, I am already down to 107 pounds.  I need to lose about 15 pounds more to reach my ideal weight so short daily walks are necessary.  And, speaking of walks, I tend to pull on my leash.  This is something I will need help with but I respond well to my name and high value treats so teaching me to stop pulling should be fairly easy to accomplish with a little help.

I would likely do well living with another older and/or mellow dog. I enjoy playing with my foster family’s active young dog but I would do better with a less active playmate due to my arthritis.  (I’m currently on medication for arthritis and my veterinarian tells me I will need to continue with the medication for the rest of my life.)

I also want to let you known I was hit by a car three years ago.  The accident doesn’t impact my daily life but I feel it’s important that you know this about me if you’re going to be my forever family.

I am ready to tackle my golden years with a new family.  Can it be yours?  I vow to love you unconditionally if it is.
