Hello GBR,

Buster, better known as Buzzy, the now famous “Black Snout” Golden Retriever ….the amazing GBR puppy strangles disease survivor, was the poster boy from waaaay back in 2013….He had an amazing 12 & 1/2 year life assignment being the funny looking dog with a funny story to share for everyone.

The morning of Oct 24, 2025 our awesome Buzzy dog went charging across that sparkly Rainbow Bridge to find his other Golden Bond Rescue pals, Chrissy, Kodah, Dallas and dozens of other GBR puppies that have had to leave this life.

He battled his puppy strangles condition, the worst his vet had ever treated, then years later beat back a shoulder cancer condition. He stared down the arthritis demons road challenging gravity to the very end. It was finally kidney disease that robbed his strength and a huge tumor in his belly that had to be making his final days here a real struggle.  We sure loved that dog and he loved everyone he greeted with many exciting barks and a tail wagging in circles like a propeller!

There was just no telling what a stranger might hear was the reason this familiar looking dog breed had such a curious black snout….our favorite was…Well, his daddy was a “fence jumping wild Hyena” with a passion for cute female golden retrievers…

“Really?” they’d answer….

NO! Not really… he is a pure bred golden retriever who had a serious illness as a puppy and can never grow hair on his snout. What fur he lacked on his nose he made up for with the bushiest tail ever seen!

His legacy includes being the puppy on the GBR Big White Sprinter Van that is shredding the Milk Bone box, just about the most joy a puppy can have…He has taken a piece of the hearts of so many people and many other neighborhood dogs.

We have had so many neighbors so sad to see Buzzy go, the outpouring of love just goes to show how our puppy touched people’s lives. We keep finding ourselves looking down to see that sweet dog looking up quietly hoping for a nibble or treat.

We owe it all to GBR and especially Betty Lindstrom for her fostering love for our rescued puppies over the years.  We will miss Buzzy terribly, and always have him in our hearts.

What an awesome Shop, Quilting Studio, and Hangar dog!  Godspeed Buzzy!
