We adopted Winnie recently as a addition to our family. Winnie, who we renamed Ginny Weasley, in keeping with several of her cousins named after Harry Potter characters, is an amazing addition to our family joining our 9yr old English Setter and Golden Retriever mix, Abby. Our Abby is a super social dog, and we thought she’d enjoy having a friend during the day while we are at work. The girls have quickly become good friends and do really enjoy each other’s company. We have also fallen in love with Ginny who has the sweetest personality, her joy in every experience, from farmers market to meeting goat cousins ( “Harry Potter” and “Molly Weasley”) to watching cats on TV, is so infectious you can’t help but smile watching her.
Ginny is a social girl who wants to meet everyone she passes, actively trying to draw in passers by with her sweet smile. Often successful she happily basks in the attention.
As a 7 year old rescue from Taiwan, Ginny does have some medical issues, like a bad hip and missing teeth, but they don’t slow her down down at all. She exuberantly plays in the yard with Abby and anyone else who will join her.
Ginny is food driven so she has a slow food bowl, and we make sure she doesn’t eat Abby’s dinner once done with her own and we are working with her to gently take a treat.
We could not be happier with Ginny, she is a sweetheart and a wonderful addition to our family.
Winnie was adopted on May 14, 2016.
