Wallace went to the Rainbow Bridge just six weeks after coming to this country from China. He was not a healthy dog, but we didn’t know how bad off he was until we visited the cardiologist. Multiple congenital defects of the heart. But he was full of spirit, heart and full of charm.

I am so thankful that he got to spend some time with me. Time enough to teach me that you can enjoy the simple things each day, and not think about the bigger picture. Time enough to enjoy cabbage, lettuce, broccoli and carrots (yes, he loved his vegetables), but not to waste your time on peanut butter! Time enough to lie in the grass. Time enough to chase one more ball. Time enough to enjoy a tummy rub. Time enough to love and be loved.

Some dogs come into our lives and quickly go; some stay for awhile and leave pawprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. Thank you, Wallace.
