Toby! Toby! Toby! Toby (#2137) came into our home and our hearts in May, 2011, at the age of 4. He was adopted from a home where he was tied up outside 24/7 before being surrendered. Toby had never had toys and we had to teach him how to play with a rope, but my did he ever take to it. The rope was the first thing he went to in the morning and he would shake and shake it. Toby had never seen the ocean either and the first time we took him he stopped in his tracks on a small dune above the beach and we swear he was thinking, “Whoa! What is that?” Toby had many more adventures with us at the beach and went through many, many ropes over the years. He was adventurous and tackled several skunks over the years and even a small raccoon, but was never bit. Just sprayed by the skunks! We said goodbye to several chickens thanks to Toby, but hey he was a bird dog! Toby had several health issues over the years, which never slowed him down until 2020 when he was diagnosed with canine dementia. We had to say goodbye to our boy in August, 2020.
