First of all “Thor” (we now call him “Benny”) is a swell guy and has made so much improvement. He behaves very well, hasn’t chewed since the day he moved here (not one bit.) Also, he understands sign language and loves rides in the car and walks with me when I go hiking- he loves it! He also loves to be surrounded with other dogs. He is doing much better at leaving the birds, squirrels and such alone- instead of chasing, he walks away. Benny also visits me at my work and greets my patients. He loves it! He lies around on the couch on a pillow …he thinks he is a person!
Thor’s Available Story:
I’m a cute Golden mix. I’m pretty small at only 40 pounds and the vet says I’m at a perfect weight. My foster mom thinks my ears are pretty darn cute.
I came here from the streets of Taiwan and had a very hard and tough time there. I came here with some real trust and fear issues, but since I’ve been rescued and have been in my foster home, I’ve learned people and things aren’t really all that scary after all. I’ve learned people are wonderful and have gotten over many of my fears. When I first got here I didn’t understand what it meant to get “petted”, but now I will come looking for pets and belly rubs! My foster mom says I’ve turned into a great little guy. I’m looking for someone who has lots of room in their heart to love me…because I’ve got lots of love to give.
I’ve been living with two foster dog sisters and I like to play with them and I really like them, but I have to admit, I really don’t like to share toys so it’s probably best if I’m in a one dog home.
I really love riding in the car. I like going for walks, I don’t tug too much but I do get distracted sniffing.
I haven’t been around children or cats, so I don’t know how I would do.
I’m not perfect, but I’m pretty close to it and with lots of love from the right new person, I know I can become the perfect dog and a great companion for life. Are you the one ?
Notes from foster mom: Thor came from a very difficult situation in Taiwan, but he has improved so much since he has been here. It has been amazing to see him blossom. He just needs someone who is willing to take the time to give him a lot of love and patience.
Thor was adopted on November 3, 2015.
