Meet Simon, a 1-1/2 year old bouncy and exuberant Golden boy who loves everything and everybody.  Other dogs, check; people, check; toys, check; balls, check; but, cats are probably not a good idea because he wants to play with them and is so excitable that only an extremely savvy cat would tolerate him.

When he first came to Golden Bond, he had little training.  Ever been around a nearly fully grown Golden with limited social skills? That was Simon! He has been with his foster family for a couple of months now, and they have done a wonderful job of starting him down the road to being a terrific dog.  He has been in doggie daycare which he loves and has been on a beach trip or two. He is also enrolled in “Good Dog 1” training, and his skills are improving.  He can get quite barky when he’s excited (which is LOTS of the time), and a front clip harness has been great in helping him to walk on leash appropriately.

Simon is a great dog.  However, he will need someone who has been around a young Golden and knows what training is going to have to be continued and will give him a ton of strenuous exercise- walks are not going to do it for this guy.

We can pretty much guarantee, though, that once he’s in a situation where he gets lots and lots of exercise and training, he will mature into one fabulous dog.
