Hi!  My name is Wendy (#3215) and I recently arrived from China. Everything here is so new to me, the squirrels, the grass, balls, and toys (did I mention squirrels?). Mostly what is new is the love and attention I’ve been getting. I am soaking it up like a sponge. I am very attached to my foster mom and I like to follow her everywhere. You never know when she might give me an extra pat or belly rub! I love my foster dad too, but it has taken me longer to bond with him because men just seem to scare me more than women do. Now I know he is one of the good ones and I have met other men who seem okay too – maybe men aren’t so scary after all. The other thing that makes me nervous is riding in cars, but my foster parents are working on that.

I may be small (45 pounds) but I am really sturdy and healthy and my foster parents think I have the heart of an athlete. I’m looking for someone with a ton of love and time for me – could that be you?

From the foster parents:  Wendy definitely bonded with me (foster mom) from day one. When her foster dad tried to take or call her away from me, she would get scared and sometimes leak a little pee. Now that she trusts him, that problem is mostly resolved. She seems very bright and already knows come, sit, and lie (most of the time). Off is a work in progress. Her big issue is riding in the car. We’re combining short trips with special treats. It’s a slow process, but we’re definitely making progress. We are looking for an active family with someone who can be with her most of the time. Given time and patience, Wendy will love you unconditionally.
