Ulyana was adopted on June 11, 2019.

Hi y’all! My name is Ulyana (#3175).  My foster parents call me Uly for short, which seems to fit me quite well! They say I’m 3 years old but I’ve been told I have the temperament of a 10-year old. Anyway, everyone just loves me! Everywhere we go I make everyone smile. Just like my foster mom, everyone gushes on my short legs. I don’t really notice though. Everyday, I’m a little more active and spunky. I pretty much like everything and everyone. My favorite things are walkies, car rides, food, and my dog bed. I reeeeeeaaaaally love this whole dog bed thing. When I first came from China on April 11th, I had no idea what a bed was. My foster sister finally showed me the right way to use it. These American dogs really have the life! Glad I became a citizen and I can live the life now!

When we go on walks I like to hop around and waggle my Pom Pom a lot! Makes my foster parents so happy! I’m fully potty trained, and learning new commands. My foster parents say I’m a real smarty pants, whatever that means. I like other dogs okay but am pretty indifferent. I play with my foster sister first thing in the morning and that’s about it. They have this weird thing called a cat. If you ask me, he’s a little annoying but we get along. So far the only things that really “bug” me are being humped (so don’t ya dare try it!) and flies. Pesky flies! I’m a killer fly hunter!

From my foster parents: Uly is truly the most amazing dog. We haven’t had any issues at all! Our cat can be forceful with his love and in the beginning she would just move away from him and if he continued she’d give him a little bark. That’s another thing: She barely barks at all. It’s pretty wonderful! She’s friendly towards everyone but is also independent. Not needy. Seems she was probably overbred as she has some stretched out skin. Probably why she hates being humped. Our neighbor dog is hump happy but Uly put her in her place. I can’t stress how perfect she is. She would love to have human companions that have a quiet life — as long as she gets walks and a bed! Also, she’s had some teeth removed and will need a food on the softer side. She’s a bit of a picky eater. She sticks with the meats! We feed her Ziwi peak which is air dried and she loves it! We’ve seen a HUGE improvement since feeding her this. I could go on and on . . . she’s just so amazing!
