Hi there! My name is Bunny (#3379). I am a Newfoundland, chocolate brown in color and I arrived from China on November 23, 2020 to a whole new world of possibilities! I’m not a really big girl, I’m just slightly taller than my Golden foster brother. My foster mom says I am just a really sweet girl. My energy level is not very high, I just need to get some good walks in, which I really love! I am learning to walk on a leash, and doing much better now. I still pull on my leash sometimes, when I see something that excites me. My foster mom says we will need to work more on that, but it’s a lot better than when I first arrived, and was a little scared of many sights and sounds.

My foster brother is an older guy (13 years old), and we get along fine, but he doesn’t really want to play much. I would really love to have a dog buddy in my new home to play with. That would be good for me, and I can learn from my new sibling’s behavior. I think I really like the small “kid” humans, but since I’m kind of big and sometimes a clumsy puppy, it would best if there weren’t any little humans in my new home. I am sometimes a little shy around new people, and tend to back off. But I love all the people I’ve met, humans are the best!

I’ve learned to sit and I try to take treats gently. I know how to lay down, and a few other things. I do love food, and when it’s time for my breakfast or dinner, I get overly excited when mom takes me to my spot and puts my bowl down. I just can’t help wanting that food, in case I don’t get any more.  My foster mom is working from home, and so has been home with me the whole time. That has made me very comfortable, and I will really need to have one of my new human family members around at least for a while. I don’t know how I’d do alone right now, that sounds scary. I would need to get comfortable in a new home for a while, before I was left on my own.

I should tell you, I don’t really like crates a lot. I get kind of freaked out, so my mom has tried to make me feel comfortable, and puts treats in my crate, and feeds me in my crate, which makes me feel better. Now, I like laying in my crate sometimes.

From foster mom: Bunny is the sweetest girl you can imagine. She is a total love bug and wants to please her humans. She’s smart and learns quickly and she’s very calm for a puppy. She will come and sit next to me and put her head on my knee and just look up at me with her beautiful eyes. I will really miss this girl when she goes to her forever family.
