My name is Rancher (#3789)!  I am a loving and fun five-year old male yellow Labrador Retriever. I weigh about 70 pounds and am very active. Like a typical Lab, I can run and chase my ball for days and love to spend time outside, especially in the snow. I usually play fetch outside twice a day and go for a walk around lunch time, too.  I do well with other dogs and adjust to a new routine quickly. I am not anxious, and I haven’t chewed anything up or gotten into mischief since I’ve been in my foster home. I’ve been excellent with the cat there as well—I leave her alone for the most part, but I will boop her nose or give her kisses occasionally, too!

I love attention and want to be by your side constantly. My tail never stops wagging and I have tons of love to give! I get excited whenever my foster family comes home, and the big thing I’m working on now is not jumping. I am improving every day! Other than that, I am house-trained and know basic commands. I was previously trained as a hunting dog as well, so I’m obedient and will typically stay right by your side. I am also very food-motivated, which makes me a quick learner, too!

I have always lived with another dog in the house, so I think I’d do best with a family who has another dog to keep me company. I haven’t spent much time around small children, and due to my energy-level, I may be a better fit for an active family with older kids. Overall, I am a fantastic dog with lots of energy and love to give!
