We wanted to inform you of Jack’s passing 5/23. He was diagnosed with bone cancer 4/23. Even though Jack was only part of the family for less than 18 months, it seemed so much longer in the sense he blended so well. With sadness, we said goodbye to this handsome, loving guy tonight. Just a week short of his 8th b-day, his battle with bone cancer was lost. The only comfort is knowing he’s no longer in pain. Wished we’d had more time to spend hiking and camping with this fun guy, unfortunately it was not to be. We loved you Jack.

Jack (previously known as Puppy) came into our lives a little over a month ago (February 19th), but was one of the family immediately. He learned the house rules quickly from his
“older sister” Lucy, our 12 year old chocolate lab and they seem to enjoy each other’s company.
Jack loves to play tug, especially with his “big brothers” Dan and Matt, who are luckily stronger than me and can give him a good work out.
When it’s time for our daily walk, he gets so excited when I bring out his harness, but he knows the rules and sits very regally, waiting for me to attach it.
He’s had lots of adventures already: camping at the beach and hiking and swimming at Rattlesnake Lake.
He sleeps in his crate next to Lucy’s in our bedroom and evidently he likes it enough to voluntarily lay in there when I’m in the bedroom and it’s not “night-time”.
Jack is such a sweetheart, loves to cuddle and watch T.V.
We know it was difficult for his original family to surrender him, but want to thank them for the opportunity to have Jack join our family and let them know he is loved and well cared for.
Thank you Golden Bond for matching us with Jack.

Puppy was adopted February 19, 2017
Meet Puppy (#2781), a handsome redheaded Golden boy. Puppy was recently surrendered to Golden Bond Rescue because his family no longer had enough time to provide him with the attention he craves and deserves. Puppy is happy, friendly, energetic and loving. He knows basic commands, loves car rides and is a laid back and relaxed boy but only after he overcomes his initial enthusiasm for meeting someone new, Puppy is looking forward to finding a new home where he can be the center of attention.
