Hi guys, my name is Oscar (#3692). My foster mom says my name suits me. I’m a pretty big guy with so much love to give. My foster mom says I’m a big black and brown boy with a golden attitude. I can be a little silly at times but settle down quickly. My favorite things are getting snuggles and having someone talk to me a lot. I’m trying to figure out what toys are; the closest I’ve come is to wrestle with my soft bed. I don’t chew things up though.  I’m more of a listener than a talker so I’m going to turn this introduction over to my foster mom who’s more of a talker than I am.

From Oscar’s foster mom:  Oscar came to us so we could give him a little rest before moving on to his forever family. His trip here from S. Korea was long and he just needed to relax a bit. Oscar is a dog who connects to his person pretty quickly. He wants to have someone let him know he can count on them. Once that happens he is their best friend.

When Oscar arrived here, he was pretty timid.  He doesn’t seem to have any fear aggression, just timidity. He loves to be talked to. He looks directly at me and has even told me to hurry up with dinner by giving me a sweet little “woof.”  Oscar loves people so much that I swear he is giddy with a big smile when I talk to him. Oscar is not fond of all dogs, though he is okay around more aloof dogs who simply ignore him.  Considering his strong preference for humans over dogs, he would probably enjoy being the only dog in the family.

Oscar loves car rides and an occasional pup cup from a coffee place. He is patient and waits for me to take care of so many things without even one complaint. He is great in a kennel when I go somewhere and patiently awaits my return.  Oscar is housebroken. He doesn’t chew things or destroy bedding. He loves food so keep I it out of his reach; he can counter surf but doesn’t seem to care to do it here but we keep food off the counters just in case.

If you are looking for a furever best friend, Oscar is your guy.

August Pupdate from Oscar: I have an update to share.  After several months at my foster home, and slow interactions with all my foster siblings (the 4-legged kind) I am doing amazing (so says my foster mom).   This is good information to know in case I’m going to need to be around other dogs.   If I have the opportunity to get to know them slowly, we can be friends.     I still might prefer humans who just want me all to themselves though.  I love all attention and will give it right back.   My foster mom says I really am the best boy.   I will say, my pictures do not show my best side.  I am not photogenetic and either get up in the camera lens or walk away. I am a beautiful soft black with some brown (and little grey around the face) but it’s so hard to show that.   If you want to come and meet me, you will surely see I am much more handsome in person.
