Morgen and Doug

In September, 2015 I agreed to foster Morgen—a beautiful  golden with a luxurious creamy coat. At thirteen and a half,  he was a bit hard of hearing but otherwise in great condition. He and Doug became buddies immediately. I walked them together and their eating, sleeping, backyard hygiene schedules meshed perfectly. He’s not a ball chaser but has some soft toys he likes, especially if I pretend to want it. They often nap back to back, each taking comfort in the other’s presence. So after a short time……

Wait for it—-wait for it…

And yes, , I failed Fostering again ( four times now) and I adopted Morgen. The only thing better than  having a golden retriever is having two—or more, but I have rescued myself as a foster—can’t adopt them all. But I wish I could.

I’m so grateful to Golden Bond Rescue for giving me the chance to know all these wonderful dogs through fostering, and to let me make them my family.Morgen

Morgen 2623aMeet Morgen (#2623).  Morgen is a 75 pound, 13 1/2 year old very light golden who was a prime show dog, major breeding male (now neutered) who belonged to a respected breeder of goldens. Morgen is a wonderful old dog who is well trained, gets along well with other dogs, cats, kids and all people, and just needs to live out his life being loved and cared for. He does tend to bark a bit when he wants his way or wants attention. His hearing isn’t the best but he’s quite healthy considering his age.

Morgan was adopted by his foster mom on October 31, 2015.
