My name is Molly (#2817). I am a happy little girl who thinks everyone is my friend! People are my favorite, but I also love to play with other dogs, play with my toys, eat, and watch/chase birds! I watch cats intently but could probably learn to live with them if given the proper introductions and time.

I am about 6 years old, a petite but solid 44 pounds with the funniest build for a golden you’ve ever seen. My short legs, wide chest and ribs and perky ears give me character that goes along with my happy, friendly nature. I make friends wherever I go!

Given my background as a breeding dog in China where I ended up very sick in the slaughterhouse, people think it’s amazing I can be so happy, loving, and have such a positive outlook on life. I deal with spondylosis in my back and extensive arthritis in my knees and have a funny pacing gait, but despite all that I am now in great shape, love my daily walks, and can go for half- to one mile-walks twice daily with no problem. I’ll never be a long distance hiker, runner or jumper, but regular walks will keep me active. Along with walks, I need to continue with good joint supplements, and getting acupuncture every couple of weeks has given me mobility back and will help to keep me moving more easily.

I am a very mellow, sweet, friendly dog who adapts to most anything. I’ll speak up for myself (with my funny, croaky little bark) and am not afraid of anything. Anyone who gives me a loving home will be repaid with doggie love and happiness over and over again.  Promise.
