We are happy to introduce Jimmy (#2864). Jimmy arrived from China in early December. He has impressed the GBR volunteers with his good looks and even temperament. Even so, he’s pretty much an 80 pound puppy in need of training.
Jimmy is gorgeous, large, playful, very friendly and good with other dogs. After a half day in his foster home, Jimmy was described as follows:
“Jimmy arrived at our house at around 3:30 this afternoon and is doing pretty well considering his extensive travels. Thus far we’ve learned he’s not potty trained, will take anything off any surface and likes to bark. He’s doing well with our resident Goldens although Atlas thinks he has way too much energy.
While he wasn’t mouthy the first hour or so it has kicked into full gear now that he’s getting more comfortable. When he gets excited he takes your arm or whatever body part he can get in his mouth and attempts to take you for a walk in true Golden fashion. As I mentioned above he enjoys chewing on anything. He’s attempted to take my notepad off my desk while I was sitting at it, the place mats off the dining room table, blankets from the couch and a coaster from the coffee table 🙂 Household living appears new to him but he seems really smart so I don’t think it’ll take him long to adjust. He’s the first foster I’ve had that I don’t feel comfortable giving full access of the house overnight so he’ll be sleeping in his kennel until we improve his house manners a bit.”
If you’re looking for a dog with spunk, Jimmy might just be just the right dog for you!
