I wanted to send a quick note to everyone who helped our family during the adoption process recently with Jenny, now known as Izzy. Yesterday marked the end of four weeks with us and I’m pretty convinced that we won the lottery.

Her demeanor is SO warm and she is just the absolute sweetest thing. She loves attention and is around us all day. She’s grown particularly fond of my wife, Traci, who has her work space on our home’s upper level. When Traci leaves the house, Izzy sits facing the garage door and patiently awaits her return.

We’ve introduced her to broccoli and carrots, which we mix into her food each morning and night. She’s also fond of apples and pumpkin, but is NOT keen on green beans or lettuce. She doesn’t beg for food but is fully aware of what we’re up to when we eat dinner, sitting at our feet enjoying our company.

We are working on her conditioning, but she is walked twice a day for three total miles. The last couple of days, we went on longer, 45-minute walks that stretched over 2.5 miles and she definitely gets tired towards the end of it.

She is also getting better meeting other dogs. One of her first “visits” went sideways, but she has met and been cordial with many others over the past month so … progress!!!

We are excited, too, to be able to return to Redmond this summer for her to be reunited with Carito and Seba, who fostered her for a month after she arrived in The States. Traci’s parents live in Redmond and her sisters live in Sammamish / Issaquah, WA, so Izzy will make the journey with us and be able to hang out in her “ol’ stomping grounds”.

More than anything, we wanted to thank you ALL for what you did for Izzy along her journey from Beijing to Los Angeles to Redmond to her “fur-ever” home here in Eugene. If only she could talk, right!?!?!? The stories she would share would be amazing, I’m sure!! Your passion and dedication for saving these beautiful animals while helping families like us turn our “house” into a “home” again is both inspiring and heart-warming.

All the Best …

Greg, Traci, Dominic, Rocco, and Izzy Graziano

Hi, I’m Jenny (#3441). I’m a 3.5 years old female Golden from China.  I weigh 62 pounds.  You will love me the moment I walk into your life. I am adorable. But beyond that, I am smart and will catch up with your routine, learn new commands, and learn more of your language. Be advised that I will always be next to you, longing for your time, because, beyond everything else, I want your pets and company.

I still can’t quite differentiate between my favorite toy (a plush salmon) and any other fluffy thing on the floor. I m still learning and hope you are patient and don’t leave those tempting socks where they will confuse me.

I want to be the only dog in the house. I’m not particularly eager to share my humans, and I’m slightly afraid of other dogs. But my foster parents keep telling me they are “fine” and believe I could learn to play with them at a dog park.

I love to take strolls, even in the rain. This PNW weather won’t stop me! So I would love to be your partner. I like playing fetch too. And back home, I want to lay peacefully close to you while you watch a movie (as long as there is no dog in the film).

I will sleep peacefully in my crate at night…and will wake up happy and waging my tail as soon as I see you, ready to begin a new day with my best friend!!!
