Hi Everyone! I’m Jenny! (Or as my foster mom likes to call me, “Jenny! Jenny! Jenny!”)
I am a four-year-old love bug from China and world-class cuddler. I am potty trained, I walk nicely on a leash, and I behave well in a car. My foster parents have an 8-year-old golden that seems nice, but he’s not that interested in playing with me. Sometimes we’ll nap right next to each other and sometimes we’ll briefly share a toy, but otherwise we mostly keep to ourselves.
Foster Mom & Dad were a little worried about me at first because I seemed so shell-shocked. (I was, in fact, a little out of sorts in the beginning. I’ve been through the wringer and it was a long flight from China!) But now that I am feeling a little more safe and secure, I can act like an ordinary golden retriever. I love to prance around the house and backyard with soft toys in my mouth. My foster parents have taken to greeting me with a stuffed toy so I can put my mouth on that instead of their wrists. I’ve been known to steal socks and gloves.
Foster Mom says I have the most beautiful eyes. She thinks I travel with a make-up artist. Foster Dad loves my mahogany-red lion’s mane. When I curl up next to him, he thinks I look like a little bear. Which do you think I look like–a lion or a bear?
I am learning English. I overheard Foster Mom say that I don’t know my commands, but that I know how to behave well in the house. I think she means that she likes it that I am generally calm and sweet. She loves it when I offer her my belly for a rub or sit at her feet.
I am sometimes curious about what’s on the dining room table or kitchen counter, but I don’t beg.
I am a little chubby right now and need to lose weight. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going for walks, so that helps with the weight-loss thing, but I can’t walk that far, yet.
I have so much love to give and I would love to give it to you!
