Hello there Golden Bond friends! My name is Heidi (#2826) but I come from Beijing, China, not the mountains of Switzerland! I am about eight months old and weigh about forty of those pound things. I was born in China and my mom was one of those “breeder” dogs The man there sold me to the meat market because I am missing two toes on my left back foot. I hurt them when I was a tiny puppy but I don’t remember anything about the accident and honestly, who cares about a couple of toes? It doesn’t slow me down. I was just happy to be saved by those nice women in China called “rescuers”.
When I first arrived in America, I was a little shy and scared. I still am getting used to tall men like the ones who always come to my foster family’s house. They call them “grandsons”. I don’t get why they keep hanging around.
I am pretty comfortable living with my foster people and their dogs. I especially love the two-year old Golden boy who plays and wrestles with me. I love to run after balls and bring them back to be thrown again and again. My foster brother only likes the orange balls but I like the blue ones too. Sometimes I take his ball so that he will try to get it out of my mouth!
I like the neighbor kids around my foster home. They pet me and throw balls for me. I even like to watch them ride their bikes and scooters. I like it when they ask me to SIT for my dog cookies.
Let me tell you about my very favorite thing…it’s WATER! I like to run in the sprinkler and roll around in the kiddie pool. I will splash in my outside water bowl and even drop balls in the water. I would love to go to a lake or a river.
If you like my pictures and want to meet me, please consider submitting an application to Golden Bond Rescue. I would love to have my very own family.
From Heidi’s foster mom: Heidi is a sweet and snuggly puppy. She is beautiful with her soft, blonde fur. She stays near her people all day long, except when she is busy playing with our young dog. Heidi has almost mastered house training 101. She does need to go outside to pee every couple of hours. She is a good eater and still on three meals of kibble a day. She had a vet check-up after she arrived in Oregon. Everything about her is perfect…..ears, skin and hips are all healthy.
Heidi is crate-trained and goes into her crate happily with a dog cookie or stuffed Kong. She runs to her crate when she hears the vacuum cleaner or certain other noises, like the lawn mower. She sleeps all night in her crate and stays there when we are away from home for a while.
Overall, Heidi is a very sweet puppy who will be a great companion for some lucky family.
