Do you need a jogging partner or adventure buddy? If so, I might be your guy. I’m Ganon (#3622), a 2-year old Labrador Retriever-mix surrendered in Oregon due to family changes. I’m a good boy who is loving, lively and loyal but I need some fine tuning. I do not walk well on a leash, I’m working on that but there is so much to smell and see I’m just so excited. I do, however, jog/run on a leash like a pro. I might be an excellent jogging partner. My walking will get better if someone will work with me and give me lots of praise and treats.
I love to play ball and I know which ball you are asking me to retrieve. I’m told I’m pretty smart and very eager to learn and please. I know some commands and obey well when called back, unless something smells good then I might have to stop a minute. Foster mom says I’m really cute when I tilt my head trying to understand what is being asked of me and that I can also jump straight up in the air like a kangaroo. My only negatives are leash-walking, counter surfing and jumping because I’m so excited.
I’m really good in the house where I calm down nicely and will sleep at your feet. I will also follow you anywhere you go just in case you might miss me. I sleep through night, am house-trained and thus far not destructible (unless you count the pound cake I stole off counter that was for foster dad’s birthday – OOPS!). I do fine with other dogs and even cats. I think I might prefer female dogs as males in the home tend to keep my anxiety higher, but I’d also be happy as an only dog if I’m busy and have play dates. I am a little nervous in the car, but I bet once I go a lot and know there are fun things coming I’ll be happy to relax.
Overall I’m a very happy go lucky guy. I’m doing really well with learning and I even like having some structure and rules. I might like some agility training or nose work activity to exercise my brain cause I’m pretty smart. I’m very anxious to learn more things and go on adventures with my forever humans. I hope I get to meet you soon, I’m so excited to start my new life.
