Finn joined our family just in time for Thanksgiving and we are thankful! He met his two forever siblings when they were home for visits – in a matter of days they were all buddies. We love Finn’s curious, cuddly, playful nature. His neighborhood walks gradually got longer as he got more comfortable with his new surroundings. Now he happily walks 2-5 miles a day.

FinnFinn loves going for car rides and exploring every inch of his yard! He relishes going to visit the neighbors, both human and canine. Thank you Golden Bond for our active, happy boy!

Finn was adopted on November 8, 2015.

Finn’s Available Story:

Finn 2626Hi Friends, I’m Finnegan (#2626), but you can call me Finn. I’m a year and half old and have been told I am a sweetheart.  I’m pretty calm around the house, and love to be petted.  When I get out in the yard, I love to play fetch.  I am a great tennis ball retriever!  Walks through the neighborhood are nice, but I can get a little skittish in new places.  As I learn to trust my new parents, I’m sure I’ll be calmer.

Since I’m still young, I do a bunch of puppy things that could use some training. Luckily, I’m food driven, so training should be straightforward.  I sometimes get mouthy and chew on stuff I shouldn’t.  My biggest weakness is socks (or other small soft stuff).  If you can distract me with a toy, I’ll happily chew on that though.  I love to play chase and run around the house.  If I get really excited, I’ll even chase my tail!

When it comes to other animals, I’m a little picky. In my old home, I lived with a cat and a dog.  I got along great with the cat, but I was worried the dog would eat my food, so I didn’t like him.  At my foster home, I’ve had the house to myself.  I definitely like getting all the attention!  When we’ve been out on walks, I am curious about the other dogs, but also a little hesitant.  I visited a friend’s house and got along okay with a Lab mix and a Newfie.  I think I’d like to be an only dog, but don’t mind visiting friends.Finn 2626a

I get a bit protective of my food or treats when other dogs or small kids are around. I haven’t had any issues with my foster parents, and they make me sit and stay before they’ll give me food.  I know I can trust them to feed me breakfast and dinner!  (And I know my meals by those names!) Finn 2626b

All in all, I think I’m a great dog. I look forward to getting lots of love and attention in my forever home.
