Cooper #3492 – Golden/Lab
My name is Cooper (#3492). I am a sweet, energetic 7-year-old Golden/Lab mix who is looking for my forever home. If I were to have a wish and pick the perfect home, it would be one that would give me lots of exercise, lots of love and attention with someone who can hang with me all day and take me on adventures. I love people and love being included in everything. My foster parents seem to think a runner or hiker would keep me nice and busy, or a family with kids over 10 who will run and play with me. I am an active guy!!
I mostly get along with other dogs, but I like to be the center of attention. Any doggy siblings I live with would need to be laid back and easy going. Cats are okay but I would really prefer that they keep their distance.
I consider myself low-maintenance. I am housebroken, know lots of commands and eager to learn more tricks if you want teach me. I pick up things fast. I love a good hardy toy to help keep me busy, and I am willing to share my toys too. My foster mom calls me an enthusiastic chewer!!!
I will have to admit I get a little excited on walks, tend to pull a little and bark at strangers, so I will need to be walked on a front clip harness, halter vest or nose halter. No collar leash for me—it hurts my throat. I also get really excited when I see a cat, squirrel or any other small creatures on a walk, so I will need some help calming down. By the way, I do not like loud noises. Anything that goes bang, boom or pop makes me anxious.
Did I mention I am crate trained? I am a breeze if you need to go out. I just go into my crate and take a nap. When you get home, I will definitely greet you with a happy tail.
I haven’t had many car rides since I have been staying with my foster parents, but my former owner said that I loved to ride in the back of a truck. I guess I will take their word on that one for now.
If you want a sweet, fun loving guy to pal around with, I am your guy. Who wouldn’t want to take care of this—look at me, I am adorable!
