Hello! It’s so GREAT to meet you. My name is Charming (#4290) and, true to my name, I am a lucky charm. I’m one of those wonderful Velcro dogs who loves attention and being petted. I am looking for a best friend/family who will take me on long walks or hikes and snuggle with me on the couch. As you can see, I’m very handsome and strangers always smile when they see me coming.

Okay, my personal details – I’m 6 years young, a Yellow Lab-mix and weigh about 60 lbs. I know how to sit and shake and can even do a circus trick of sitting up on my hind legs. My foster mom says it is adorable. I’m not aggressive with other dogs and I’m not destructive in the house or a chewer. I love riding in the car. I don’t bark much and, according to my original owner, I’m good with cats. And I’m completely housebroken – not a single accident. Did I mention that I love people?? I will look at you with adoring eyes and follow you everywhere. My foster parents tell me that I am a VERY good dog.

Currently, my foster parents are working on my manners. I’ve got medium energy, and I get several long walks a day which keeps me from getting bored, but on walks I am so excited I tend to pull on the leash when I’m not sniffing the grass. I really like all the smells! I am curious about other dogs and am respectful when we meet on our walks. But my foster parents think that I may not have been socialized with other dogs when I was younger because when I get excited and may try to play inappropriately with them. Who knew other dogs don’t like being jumped on? So, I may do best in a one-dog family and avoid dog parks. I can be suspicious of new people when they come into my house and I may bark at them, but as soon as I greet them properly, I love them. My foster parents also said I can get anxious (whining and barking) when left alone because I had been left alone so much when I was young. So having someone with me most of every day (ideally retired or working from home) will make me very happy. I’ll need lots of understanding and patience to help me settling into a new home and manage my separation anxiety, but I think it will lessen considerably within a few months after I feel safe and secure. My foster parents tell me that I’m happiest when cuddling on the couch or being walked.

In summary, I’m a big cuddle bunny with lots of love to give and will thrive in a home where I get LOTS of attention and several walks a day.
