Candy joined our family in early January after her foster family took wonderful care of her during her transition from China.

Candy is a sweet, gentle girl who loves to cuddle. We’ve watched the smile appear on her face more and more as she settles in. She no longer looks anxious. She’s become our watch dog letting us know if something is amiss outside. She loves going on adventures with her “pack” and she shows her true golden attributes by greeting everyone at the dog park. While she doesn’t play with stuffed toys, she loves to play “chuck it” with Jade. We are so grateful to have her in our lives. We absolutely love her!

Hi! My name is Candy (#2722). I am a very sweet, gentle Golden girl and I love people.  I am about 3-years old and came from China where I had a litter of puppies.  Since coming from China, I’ve settled in very well to my life in Oregon.  I am great around people and other dogs and pretty mellow.  I am told that I’m unique among Goldens in that I don’t ever counter surf.   (Some dogs just have no manners.)  I love food, though, and have gained some weight (in all the right places) since cocandy-2722cming from China.  I am now about my ideal weight.

I’ve recently been spayed and healed up nicely from that. My left eye had one of the lids rolled under when I was born.  The vet did a wonderful job fixing that and now my eye is very normal.  I think it helps me see better too.   candy-2722aI respond to my name and am happy to sit with a little incentive like my food bowl.   When the kids came around at Halloween, I greeted them at the door with my waggy tail  — and some of them even petted me.   I loved it!

I do sometimes bark when I’m in the yard and there are people in the cul-de-sac or the neighbors’ dogs are outside.  It normal for me as a Golden to let others know I am here protecting things.  I’m a good girl.candy-2722bb

I like to chase after balls and my foster family has a dog I love to wrestle with.  It is a blast!  We do great together.

I am looking forward to finding my forever home to settle in to my new wonderful life.  Maybe it’ll be with you?
