We adopted our previous GBR, Max, back in 2004 and lost him to cancer last November. We weren’t sure we were ready for another dog so soon but are glad we took the plunge and adopted Murphy (Arby) six weeks ago. It sounds like he had a bit of a rough start being in and out of several homes in his young life, but we can tell he will thrive as he feels more secure in a stable living situation. He is extremely smart, goofy, and full of energy…just last weekend he hiked up Saddle Mountain AND ran the Beaverton Sun Run 5K (he was even given his own medal!)
Thank you Golden Bond Rescue for letting us be Murphy’s forever family. He has brought much joy to our lives already and we look forward to many more adventures with him in the future!
We are pleased to introduce Arby (#2857). Arby is a great dog, but he is young and needs continued training and exercise. He’s had a very good start with lots of socialization and training, but is high energy and needs help keeping focused. He’s was being trained as an assistance dog but his trainers felt he was not a suitable candidate as he’s too excitable. He has been in several living situations with various owners. He walks well on a leash with a Halti. He can get excited, but also listens well.
His new owners should be at least somewhat experienced with dogs and willing to continue with his training as well as keep him well exercised. He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with them. He has experience living with cats (rabbits or ferrets may not be a good idea becau
se of his high energy and excitability). He is crate trained.
