Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon, Inc. Special Stories
On Saturday, November 18th, Ming now a healthy, bouncy, blond bundle of four-month-old puppy energy-will arrive in Beaverton for a second chance and a better life. According to veterinarians in Taiwan, Ming's blindness is permanent so surgery is not an option. Having experience in dog rescue in Taiwan, Lee was concerned about Ming's possible fate. "Some pet shops will pretend to adopt these pure bred animals and turn them into 'breeding machines'...a fate that would be worse than death," she said. Lee decided to bring the pup to Oregon when she came for seven months of job training at Nike headquarters in Beaverton. She asked a local golden retriever rescue group, Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon, Inc., for help. Golden Bond volunteers found Ming (whose name means "brightness" in Chinese) a temporary foster home, and will eventually place him in a 'Forever Home'.
