For the Love of Goldens
Adopted January 18, 2004
After a very short stay in foster care, Casey (#983) has a new home in Gresham, Oregon. Casey (right in photo) started out as an owner release dog to the Bonnie Hayes Shelter in Washington County. When her owner moved to New York, Casey was left with the sister who just didn't have time for her.
Casey will be living with Chris and Christine and their six-year-old Golden, Spencer, who is on the left in the photo.
Casey is quite a lucky gal! She will have five acres to roam and a covered horse arena to romp in when the weather is too rainy to be out in the elements. Once she is settled in to her new home, she will also be lucky enough to go to work with Chris and Spencer.
Way to go, Casey! Another success story with a happy ending that just puts a smile on your face!
Update August 22, 2004
Just wanted to give you an update on Casey. She has gotten very comfortable with her new home, people and her pal Spencer. She is seeing a Dermatologist and is on Ivermectin. It is having some minor neurological effect on her so we have her cut down to a small dose. This means it may take longer to cure her of the mange but oh well. Meanwhile we took her on vacation with us last month and went to the coast (lots of fun on the beach) then on to the Steens mountain country in southeast Oregon. I have attached a picture of both puppies as their attention was riveted to all the jack rabbits wandering around the campground where we stayed. (That's Casey girl in the red collar on the right.)
