Success Story: Princess (#499)

Adopted February 1, 2004

Princess Princess (#499) made the long hike up to Portland from Roseburg and certainly hasn't regretted a minute of the move!

Princess was a stray found in Roseburg who two different people adopted but neither home seemed to work for her. Perhaps it was because she is a Princess and wanted to be treated just like one.

So Princess came into Golden Bond to find the perfect home. Charlton Kennels has been her home here so she could learn that a Princess just doesn't act that way to other animals. This knocked her down a peg or two.

Then along came Libby and Sally, who have no dogs but do have four cats! So will this union work out for all? It was love at first sight for people and dog. Princess took one look at these wonderfully caring people, ran over to them and flopped over as if to say, "Here is your Princess, I am the one!"

So after getting to know each other the match was made. However, before even leaving with Princess, she had a name change to Casey. Bringing a princess home to four cats just would not have worked!

So Casey has joined the family. She has been brought down a peg or two by the cats, but that is just fine with her as this is her home and she knows that her home is her castle!

Update August 25, 2004

Princess - CaseyCasey is doing spectatular. She is very well mannered, although we do have a bad cat day from time-to-time! She loves her walks in the woods and when we go to the ocean. She loves her ball, we can't throw it enough to suit her. We are working on having her be outside by herself! She is very much a people dog and loves it that Sally has "retired" at least for now. While she loves to swim, she hates the boat! But we are working on that. I really think it's the noise. We've learned that she doesn't like people with sticks, nor noisey coats and most likely was in a kennel and/or run most of her life, poor puppy. We tell her that she's the top dog albeit in a cat house! We couldn't have gotten a better dog.
