Jasmine brought laughter to our home from the first week of her arrival. She had a joyful enthusiasm for life and always found ways to entertain herself and her humans in a comical manner. She was the happiest dog we have ever had. We couldn't help but smile whenever she was nearby.
Jasmine loved to play. She loved the dog park where she played chase with her canine pals and amused us all by her antics in the kiddie pools. She loved the water from the smallest puddle to the ocean. On hot summer days, she would harass the gold fish in the backyard fishpond, or lie in the streambed and dunk her head under the waterfall. She loved her squeaky toys and her floppy chicken. Tennis balls were not too interesting. They didn't make any noise. She was a golden retriever who never really learned how to retrieve, except on her terms. Jasmine loved Mark's socks and would wake him up every morning, singing to him with a sock in her mouth. She loved walks, car rides, and just hanging out with us.
Jasmine was a special member of our family and we will miss her, but she will always be in our hearts. Thank you Golden Bond for placing her with us and allowing us to give her a forever home, if only for two years.

Adopted July 2003
Prior to adopting Jasmine (#384) (we changed the spelling of her name), our hearts were heavy from the losses of an uncle, both of our mothers, and of our Golden Retriever. Then along came Jasmine. She is part princess and part court jester, and has brought joy and laughter into our household. Her favorite thing to do is run and play in the yard, including a dip in the fish pond (in any kind of weather). She loves to run with joyful abandon around the yard, stopping now and then to chase leaves as they fall from the trees, or play in the sprinkler, as she did last summer. She likes to play fetch, but at 17 months old, she still has a short attention span, so that game doesn't usually last long. She also enjoys car rides, hanging out with Mark in the garage, and sitting on "her" living room window seat where she can survey her back yard domain.
Jasmine and I (Pat) completed Obedience Training last month. She was doing only so-so until we changed to the Gentle Leader head collar. Now we go for long walks and we both enjoy it. Her tail never stops wagging the entire time. People are impressed whith how obedient she is. Once, while in the pet shop, a lady asked if she could buy her a treat because she was so cute and well mannered!
Jasmine is 23 inches tall at the top of the shoulder, weighs 57 pounds, and is very athletic. Her feet are petite, and her coat is the color of copper. She is getting her adult coat long and gorgeous.
Jasmine filled a void in our lives, and we filled one in hers. We are the Roseburg Branch of the Mutual Admiration Society of Humans and Goldens. Thank you, Golden Bond.
