I thought I’d try being a foster parent, and knew it would be great having another Golden in my home. Little did I know that Jasper (formerly Parker) would steal my heart. It didn’t take long for me to realize there was no way I could let Jasper go to someone else. Jasper’s first day was wild – it was as though he hadn’t run around in ages. He tore through the backyard and found all the wet spots to ensure he got a bath within a few hours of arriving.
Jasper’s age is unknown, but he’s no more than 2 years old – so still a puppy with all those mischievous habits. He’s a beautiful boy; with tons of energy and a huge capacity for going through toys – even the so called ‘tough’ ones.

He was completely housetrained when I got him, and sleeps through the night - naturally, right next to my bed. I’d forgotten what chewers young dogs are, so have had to re-educate myself and be sure anything I like, is put away. He loves chasing balls, and has become very good at bringing the ball back and not wandering off. Playing ball is great for wearing him out and getting some of that energy out of his system. We go for lots of walks and car rides, and he loves going into those stores where dogs are allowed.
Jasper is a sweet, very affectionate Golden. He did bark at other dogs when he rode in the car or went for walks, but he is over that now. He’s been to school, but does need more training to learn how to get along with other dogs. Cleo, the cat, is not happy with Jasper in the house; but she has put him in his place, and he walks on tippy toes around her and her claws Jasper fits right in with me, since we both are crazy about the beach. He’s had several overnight stays at the beach already, and does well in new situations.
Jasper was abandoned, but he’s now found!
