Success Story: Casey # 1601

Adopted August 8th, 2007

HI, it’s Casey!

I have been settling in well to my permanent home and my new family sure is patient and affectionate with me.  However, I am still adjusting to my feline brother and sister.  I have to admit I love chasing them and “diving” under the bed for them.  I am told not to do this but it is hard to ignore my brother and sister.  Sometimes if I am left unattended for even thirty seconds in the backyard, I like to dig up chili plants from my mom’s garden!  My parents don’t get mad because they say I am a still just a puppy!

My new parents have been working with me on my obedience skills. I have had several private beginner lessons and received a quacking pheasant as a graduation gift. My family sure loves it when I “shake” on command!

Every day I look forward to car rides! Sometimes I can be a bit wild, I’m told! But I am just excited, especially if we go to the dog park, where I have made new friends.  I have noticed I have gotten quite a few baths lately, maybe because I love to play in the mud and dig at the dog parks.

I have so many new toys from my family that I love. I am just learning to play with tennis balls this week. I didn’t really like them but now I realize how much attention I get when I bring the tennis ball back.  I do like to retrieve a green bone that my grandparents gave me but my family says I still need to work on my “retrieving”!

Thank you Jackson, Elizabeth, Mike, and Ginger for taking such good care of me until I found a permanent home! I have adjusted well to my new home because of your love and support! And thank you Jackson for teaching me how to give “kisses”!

I must go now as I have a very short attention span! Love, Casey
