This is Ursa. Boy, did I luck out with my forever home. These people (Mike and Ginny) had the toys, bowls and dog beds all ready for me. They lost their golden in January and needed another to love. Lucky for me! And have I been enjoying all the attention! Of course, it all started in Marion County where I was found. Golden Bond took me in and gave me to Jack and Jill, my foster parents. They helped me get settled and feel comfortable in a safe home with lots of love. I do miss them and their canine family. My parents want to thank them for taking good care of me until I could move to West Slope and have my own private yard. I even have my own private closet for my food, treats, collars and brushes. Sometimes, I sit by it hoping I will get a treat when someone walks by.
Speaking of my own yard - I love to race out there and do a little barking at the squirrels and other dogs in the neighborhood. This is new thing for my parents since their old dog never barked. But I am teaching them that a little barking is good. Reminds everyone that I am here and here to stay. And I do like to be in the yard with Ginny when she does some gardening. Taking a walk with Mike is great but I still need to work on not pulling. Maybe I will take Mike to obedience school to teach him some walking manners. I like to sniff as we walk but I don't like the busy road we go on sometimes. I love to walk on our street because often we meet neighbors. I love to meet everyone.I have met some of the neighbors including Emma, the Airedale and Sooty, the Schnauzer, but there are some other dogs I have yet to meet. And I keep hearing about Pippin, another golden, who comes for sleepovers sometimes. I can't wait to meet her. I am sure we will become kindred spirits.

And I have heard something about "the beach"; and visiting some friends there. I can't wait to find out what the beach is and what you do when you visit it. Last Saturday we went out to get some new toys for me and to give me a bath. I have been really enjoying the old toys by ripping them up. Ginny says that's much better then chewing on the furniture. I would never do that. The bath was ok but the blow dryer was much too loud so we all decided to let me dry at home.
I know that living with Mike and Ginny is going to be great. Ginny is home lots during the day but sometimes she works on the computer and doesn't pay any attention to me. That's when I sleep under her desk and keep her feet warm. Mike plays with me in the evening after dinner or takes me for a walk. Then we settle in with a good toy to chew, book to read or just cuddle on the floor while watching a little TV.
Thank you Golden Bond for taking me in and helping me find my forever home. I love having my own family! Love, Ursa
